RECRUITMENT HAS BEGUN FOR TWO HUMAN FACTORS RESEARCH SCIENTISTS

Recruitment is underway for two full time Human Factors Engineering scientists (MS and PhD level) to join the National Center for Human Factors Engineering in Healthcare. The Center will be founded in August 2010 by the MedStar Institute for Innovation in Washington DC, part of MedStar Health.  The Center will apply human factors engineering & ergonomics principles and research methods to healthcare with a focus on improving safety, efficiency, and reliability in the medical domain.

MedStar Health is a 9-hospital system which includes two academic medical centers, Georgetown University Hospital and the Washington Hospital Center. The MedStar system is an outstanding clinical laboratory for human factors research, as it has clinically diverse hospitals and an exceptional research support infrastructure from the MedStar Health Research Institute as well as an academic partnership with Georgetown University.

The positions are now open at MedStar Health, through the Washington Hospital Center, with academic appointments at Georgetown University. The positions will be located in Washington DC.
